Tying Those Shoestrings

Tying those shoestrings — Prairie Elementary School Secretary Tammie Battles helps Hannah Bamford
learn how to tie shoelaces during one of several ongoing sessions at the school. Other students the photo with Hannah are also practicing tying their shoestrings. Many students in today’s society have difficulty tying shoestrings as so many wear shoes with Velcro® closure straps or are slip on types.
Some shoes children wear today may have shoelaces but styles dictate they are tucked into the shoe and never actually tied. The shoelace tying sessions started in April just before spring break, Battles said.
