Tires on at least 29 vehicles were discovered slashed and flattened Saturday in and around the Gateway Apartments on Shady Lane and Fern St. in Anderson, reports Anderson Police Capt. Robert Kirvin.
The first reports were logged at 4 a.m. Saturday when someone discovered their vehicle disabled, Kirvin said early Monday, Nov. 7.
“No one reported hearing anything out of the ordinary,” Kirvin said, but Anderson Police Department is seeking help from citizens who may have had security devices operating in the area.
“This is the type of crime that took some time on the part of those responsible,” Kirvin said.
Additional patrols through the neighborhood are planned to quell any further recurrences and authorities suspect additional victims may come forward once the day progresses, Kirvin said.
