Concert promoter Allan Folino announced Jan. 31, 2012 that up-and-coming country music star Scotty McCreery will headline Friday night’s show at Folino’s Jukebox Music Festival. The concert series is being held July 20-22 at the Shasta District Fair grounds in Anderson.

Last year, McCreery rose to fame on “American Idol” when he won Season Ten of the popular vocal talent show. His first single, “I Love You This Big,” became a Top 15 hit. The video for the same song rose to No. 1 just a week after its release.

“I’m really excited,” said Folino. “It opens up a whole new audience for the festival. His new album just went platinum … in three months time.”

As previously announced in the Anderson Valley Post, the festival line-up already includes Alan Jackson, Joe Nichols, Mark Chesnutt, Daryle Singletary, Kellie Pickler, Pam Tillis, Asleep at the Wheel, and Ricky Skaggs.

Tickets are now on sale for the musical event – the first of its kind for the area. They are $149 for “Gold” and $129 for general admission.

“The first tickets we sold on-line were purchased from Houston, Texas,” said Folino excitedly. “I’ve gotten calls as far away as Orange County.”

But Folino warns things are selling out fast.

“We have a limited amount (of gold tickets)” said Folino. “As soon as they’re gone, they’re gone. I doubt very much there will be tickets of any kind left at the door.”

Dry camping spots are still available, but Folino warned they, too, were being snapped up.

“The vendor spots are going quickly, too,” said Folino.

Those interested in attending the concert are encouraged to keep checking the festival’s web site, www.jukeboxmusicfestival.com for updates.

“We’re not done,” said Folino. “We will be adding more acts within the next two weeks.”

UPDATED to add previously announced line-up of three-day festival.

At this price, I certainly hope it's for all three nights and that the other two nights have someone with a big name.
