Nor-Cal Productions’ 26th annual Boat, Sport & RV Show kicks off a three-day run Friday, March 2, through Sunday, March 4, at the Shasta District Fair grounds in Anderson.

Once again, the show promises to be “one of the biggest and best in northern California,” said promoter Ron Gilliss of Anderson.

Returning are many of the most popular attractions such as the big game trophy display from North West Big Game, Splash Dogs competitions, Bass Bin fishing seminars and a Trout Fishing Pond for children age 12 or younger, Gilliss said.

However, a host of new attractions also await show goers including information booths and displays from quite a few resorts and guide services in Alaska and Canada.

When combined with a large selection of boats, RVs, tackle and recreational items

on display and for sale at special show prices, this year’s show “is a must for serious sports enthusiasts,” Gilliss continued.

Admission to the show all three days is $5 for adults, $3 for children between the ages of 7 and 15 while those under age 6 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Friday is Senior Day with those age 55 and older admitted for $4.

The show opens with 120 vendor stations filled at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Gates and exhibits close at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.

Added attractions include the Iron Chef Cook Off on Friday, a Dutch Oven Cook Off Saturday and a Barbecue Cookoff on Sunday.

The Back Country Horsemen of California will offer pony rides and demonstrate proper procedures for packing supplies on a horse or mule at the organization’s encampment.

Throughout the fair’s three-day run, there will be demonstrations of chain saw carving, visits by “Seemore Salmon” for youngsters and “lots of food vendors,” Gilliss said.

Returning as the show’s title sponsor for a second year is Crown Motors of Redding along with sponsors North Valley Bank and Coors Light.

“Adult beverages will be sold by the Anderson Rotary Club,” Gilliss noted.

Between 10,000 and 13,000 patrons are expected to attend during the long weekend, he said.
