Walk-ability planners seek citizen responses

Do you spend any time walking outdoors in Anderson?

What are your favorite places to walk?

Are you bothered by broken, uneven or even missing sidewalks?

Do you prefer walking in a park or along the Sacramento River?

When walking, are you often required to detour around vehicles or boats, basketball hoops or trash cans ¬^+ filled or empty ^+ blocking the sidewalk?

Whatever the input, now is a great time to share your vision for walk-ability within the City of Anderson, said Amy Pendergast, health educator for Healthy Shasta.

Citizens are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the Anderson Walking Survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AndersonWalkingSurvey

The City of Anderson is seeking comments on its Draft Pedestrian Accessibility and Safety Master Plan, which can be accessed online at www.healthyshasta.org.

Due to staff cuts at city hall, Healthy Shasta is helping the city collect ideas about what would make Anderson a great place to walk, Pendergast said.

Once finalized, the document will guide city investments and projects to improve pedestrian infrastructure for years to come.

City residents or anyone working within Anderson can provide information either by taking the survey at the link above, submitting emailed comments on the plan directly to amy@healthyshasta.org or by calling 229-8243.
