The board of governors of the United Way of Northern California recently announced the selection of Wendy Zanotelli as the new president and chief executive officer of United Way operations in nine counties including Siskiyou, Modoc, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Butte and Glenn.
Wendy joins the United Way of Northern California following a 17-year career in banking that included executive management roles in retail and commercial banking.
For the past 11 years, Zanotelli was chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer of UNCLE Credit Union in Livermore.
She has served as District 2 director for the board of directors of the California Credit Union League (CCUL) and has also been involved in her local chapter of the CCUL for the past seven years.
In addition, she has held volunteer leadership roles in various non-profit organizations including the event chair of Relay for Life in Livermore for the American Cancer Society and worked since 2001 as a volunteer trainer for the society’s Oakland region.
“Wendy is a strategic leader who has an impressive track record in administration and management,” said Jeffrey Lelevich, board chairman and Sacramento Postmaster.
“Her leadership skills, extensive experience in strategic planning and proven results in developing donor support and community partnerships made her the best choice to lead our agency. We are excited for the future growth of the organization under her leadership,” Lelevich said.
Born and raised in Redding and the surrounding area, Zanotelli is excited to relocate back to her hometown and to have an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those served by the United Way of Northern California. Her first day with the organization was Nov. 15, 2011.
She and her husband, Tommy, live in Redding with their two young children.
“I am looking forward to establishing relationships with all of our counties and to meeting the community volunteers and agencies that make such a difference in each county,” Zanotelli said.
The United Way of Northern California is currently working to expand the board of directors in each county.
