A Shingletown resident was struck in the head and driven around “all day” by his attackers on Friday, Jan. 20, according to a recent Anderson Police Department Incident Report.

Dylan O’Brien, 25, was allegedly struck in the head by his attacker who was later identified as Alexander Bo Sanchez, 18, of Cottonwood. O’Brien had originally reported his 1994 Cadillac STS stolen near the 2600 block of Albert Drive in Anderson.

According to the Incident Report, O'Brien identified his alleged attacker based on hearing him called “Alex” during his time spent in the vehicle.

O’Brien’s car was recovered the next day on Hwy 44 near the Sundial Bridge exit ramp. Meanwhile, Sanchez was arrested in Cottonwood for an unrelated misdemeanor warrant which led to O’Brien identifying him through a photo lineup.

According to an Anderson Police Department press release, Sanchez was booked for his outstanding warrant as well as the following felony charges; Robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and vehicle theft. The investigation is on-going for the identity of the second suspect.

You may want to check your article before you post it publicly. Alex Sanchez was attacked by Alex Sanchez? I am glad Alex could identify himself just by hearing his own name. On a different note, why would Brien report his car stolen if he was taken “hostage” by his attacker Alex? I don’t get it. Did Alex steal his car just to come back and take Brien? Come on now…
