Lillian Kelly Sparkes

Lillian Kelly Sparkes, a 30 year resident of Anderson, died Jan. 10, 2012 in Palmdale, CA, where she had lived for the past three years. She was born in Los Angeles to Laura and Howard Kelly on June 9, 1923. She and Herbert Sparkes were married October 4, 1941 in Las Vegas, NV, and they raised their family, a son and a daughter, in the San Fernando Valley. In 1978 they retired and moved to Anderson. An accomplished artist, Lillian joined the North Valley Art League and remained active for many years as a board member. She and Herb were active at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church since moving to Anderson. Herb died in 2003. In 2008, Lillian sold her home in Anderson and moved to Palmdale, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Anderson February 4th at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 144, Anderson, CA 96007.

Richard (Dick) Wallace

Richard (Dick) Wallace, of Anderson, was born near Norfork, NEB, on October 16, 1917. He was the only child of Glenn and Kathryn Wallace. In 1955, he transferred to the Post Office in Anderson, California as a rural route carrier. He went on to become the Postmaster in 1958, a position he held until his retirement on January 5, 1973.

Richard will be remembered for his generosity and great sense of humor.

Virginia L. Winningham

Virginia L. Winningham, 74, of Anderson died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at home. Arrangements are being handled by Lawncrest Chapel in Redding (222-1587).

June Elizabeth Styles

June Elizabeth Styles, 89, of Cottonwood died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at home. Arrangements are pending at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson (365-5466).

Eleanor Thompson

Eleanor Thompson, 90, of Anderson, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Oak River Rehab in Anderson. Arrangements are pending at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding (222-1587).

Raymond “Junior” Chadwick

Raymond “Junior” Chadwick , age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Jan. 18, 2012. Born in Dalton, GA, Aug. 9, 1939 to Raymond and Myrtle Chadwick and moved to Anderson, CA when he was six years old. “Junior” graduated from Anderson Union High School in 1958.

I’m sure so many people have seen our brother out riding his bicycle, it always managed to lead him to a local sport event, to Anderson River Park, fish hatchery and his favorite place was to ride his bicycle on Fridays to Eagles Nest Pizza and from there straight to Shasta Livestock Auction Yard to watch the cattle sale.

Services will be held Saturday, January 28 at 1:00pm at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel (9100 Deschutes Rd, Palo Cedro). Reception immediately following at the Odd Fellows, 22551 Silverlode Rd. Millville, CA. In lieu of flowers you may send contributions to Anderson Union High School, 1471 Ferry Street Anderson, CA 96007, Anderson Community Memorial Scholarship Fund Attn: Faren Reid.

Barbara Lokey

Barbara Lokey went to the Lord on Christmas Day 2011. She was born in Denver, CO. in 1931. She moved to Southern California where she married her husband Don Lokey and raised five children in Carpinteria. She retired to Cottonwood, CA. with her husband in 1991 after they traveled the world designing golf courses. She was also active in horticulture and was also a florist. She belonged to the Bowmen’s Women’s Club in Red Bluff, CA.

Services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Anderson, CA. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Saint Elizabeth Hospice, 2550 Sister Mary Columba Drive, Red Bluff CA. 96080

Karrie René Seeberger

Karrie René Seeberger, 47, of Forest, Virginia, passed away peacefully of uterine cancer Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, in her home. Born at home July 10, 1964 in Fort Lewis, Washington, she was the daughter of Douglas and Glena Pryde, Anderson, California. She was the wife and sweetheart of Robert Seeberger. A graduate of Anderson High School, she is survived by her parents, husband and three children, Branden Seeberger 24, Nathan Seeberger 21, and Kaitlyn Seeberger 18. Karrie will always be remembered for her love of her husband and family. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, quilting, and working with youth.

She always swooped in with a hug for the children and was a sincere and devoted friend.
