Anderson New Tech High
Allegra Spicer
Sophomore Allegra Spicer, 15, is excited to be the understudy for both Alvira and Ruth in Anderson New Tech’s spring production of Blight Spirits. Spicer added that she is also a part of both the drama and choir clubs off and on.
In her free time, Spicer said she likes to play sports and is involved in swimming, volleyball, soccer and martial arts. Spicer added the she also enjoys reading, photography and listening to music.
The sophomore said she has two favorite classes at the high school, drama and Spanish II. She said she loves drama because of the creative freedom and exercises they do, as well as acting. She said she enjoys Spanish II because she loves learning and speaking new languages.
After high school, Spicer wants to go straight to a four-year university and pursue a career in the arts, like photography, acting or cooking, She said she is also planning on taking different language courses because she would like to be a translator.
Anderson Union High
Cheridan Hawkins
Around the Anderson Union High School campus Cheridan Hawkins is known for her self-motivation, ability to challenge herself both academically and athleticaly, as well as being a responsible, caring individual.
The 17-year-old senior is involved in softball, Cub Lean, the California Scholarship Federation, as well as being a second period aide to a severely handicapped class on the Big Blue campus.
Hawkins said her favorite subject is science because its interesting.
“I practive English every day, and with science there is always something new,” said the senior.
After high school, Hawkins plans on playing softball for the University of Oregon. She plans on studying medicine while there. Hawkins said her goal is to be a nurse practitioner because she wants to help people, but doesn’t want to be a doctor.
West Valley High
Kassadie Dunham
West Valley freshman Kassadie Dunham, 14, is just starting out her high school journey and was surprised that she had been chosen as the high school’s December student of the month.
Dunham said she is involved in FFA, 4-H, the California State Horesmen’s Association and has plans to run track and field for West Valley in the spring.
Outside of school Dunham said she enjoys horseback riding, pointing out its her favorite activity.
Dunham’s favorite subject is ag science because she enjoys learning about public speaking and as well as the different portions of science.
Dunham still has a few years before her class graduates, but she already knows which university she would like to attend — UC Davis. Dunham said she plans on studying veterinary science so that she can become an equine veterinarian.
