The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) will reroute traffic on Deschutes Road near Interstate 5 starting Monday, July 15, while Eddie Axner Construction crews rebuild the Deschutes section of roadway leading to the Anderson roundabout.
The week-long closure lasts through Monday, July 22, CalTrans officials said.
Motorists seeking access to Interstate 5 from Deschutes Road east of the freeway will be re-directed along Balls Ferry Road.
“Locust Street and the northbound I-5 on-ramp accessible from Shasta Outlets Drive will remain open,” noted Anderson City Manager Jeff Kiser.
Once the detour is lifted, traffic through the roundabout construction will most likely start to travel around the traffic circle,” Kiser noted.
“Look for the project to be complete and a ribbon-cutting ceremony in September,” he added.
