APD identifies high-speed chase suspects

Anderson police identified four suspects Tuesday, June 18, who were involved in a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle that started in Anderson and ended in Redding Monday, June 17.

After chasing a stolen Pontiac Grand Prix up to speeds reaching over 100 mph through Anderson, Bella Vista and eventually Redding, police then were in a foot pursuit with the suspects. During the pursuit the suspects threw stolen merchandise from Walmart from the vehicle.

There were shots reportedly fired at police, however a firearm has yet to be found, police said.

All suspects attempted to run from police after their vehicle lost control and came to a stop in a Redding neighborhood, Officer Casey Day said. The driver, Billie Jo Patterson, 23, of Redding was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, burglary and other similar offenses.

A pregnant passenger who also attempted to run from police; Jennifer Anne Barrett, 21, of Redding was arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property, burglary and other similar offenses.

Another suspect, Benjamin Ben Barnett, 31, of Redding was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.

Additionally, Raymond Lamar Thomas, 24, of Redding was arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property, burglary and other similar offenses.
