Police Chief Michael Johnson is inviting the public to participate in monthly gatherings to exchange information, express concerns and explore ideas to enhance the Anderson community.
Coffee with the Chief is an effort on the part of Anderson Police Department to connect with the community, Johnson said.
“Coffee with the Chief is meant to be an informal opportunity for the general public to meet with Chief Johnson and engage in transparent (dialogue) for the good of the city,” states the press release.
It adds that Chief Johnson will provide informational updates about the department, personnel assignments and projects aimed at protecting the way of life in South County.
Gatherings are tentatively scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at Vittles Family Restaurant, 2385 North Street in Anderson. The first gathering will be on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 a.m.
