Martha Boyle has lived in the North State all of her life. Born in Red Bluff, Boyle moved to Cottonwood with her musical family. Beginning at age eight and continuing until she turned 18, Boyle and her family would go and sing at the Rescue Mission in Redding once a month.

Hundreds visit Santa under Anderson Christmas tree

Connie Blanc moved from Southern California to Shasta County 10 years ago with her husband.Six years ago, a great opportunity presented itself in the form of opening up a florist shop in Redding. Realizing that she had always wanted to be her own boss, Blanc bought the shop.

My home is on a little country road, which in recent years has had the benefit of paving and grading. Before that, for many years it was a gravel road and then a dirt road and trail. This led to the first or second Coleman Fish Hatchery. This was a hidden away kind of operation, which was dedicated to the preservation of the wonderful and very large migration of salmon from the ocean up Battle Creek to spawn on a yearly basis.
