A.J. Hailey winds up to launch a strike at the Kiwanis Dunk Tank, used during the Shasta District Fair to raise funds for new stock pens and stall fencing at the fairgrounds in Anderson. The event raised $900 that will be used toward the nearly $4,600 expense of purchasing stock fencing that in prior years has had to be rented and hauled from other fairgrounds in Shasta, Tehama, Trinity and Butte counties, said Chris Workman, chief executive officer for the 27th Agricultural District that hosts the fair in Anderson each June.
The Shasta District Fair 2009 edition offered games, contests and fun for the young as well as the young-at-heart, from a dunk tank to bungie jumping and just about everything in between including a mechanical bull.
