Staff Sargent Shawn Tostado of the United States Army and trainer Staff Sargent James Beeson of the Army National Guard demonstrate combative techniques at Anderson River Park on Wednesday, June 16, while teaching local recruits. Training sessions will soon be moved to mornings due to the heat and school being out for the summer. Beeson is a Level Three Certified Combative Instructor and has served in two deployments to Iraq. He has been a member of the Army National Guard for ten years and plans to stay in the military for a total of 20 years.
