  • Got Mud?:
Senior Jacob Ramirez of West Valley dives through the mud in the goalie box as senior Tyler Kirkland jumps over him so he doesn't get hurt with two Corning players closing in on the ball at the Section Championship game in Corning. Ramirez's attempt at catching the ball was successful. Unfortunately the Eagles suffered a 0-5 loss. The West Valley boys and girls teams both took second a sections. The Lady Eagles were defeated 2-4 by Lassen.
  • FOR THE LOVE OF SPORTS:
Marcus Zachary of Anderson, is a three sport athlete. Marcus participates in Football, Wrestling and Tennis.
  • LUMBERJACK:
The Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference honors Delbert Gannon, owner of Creekside Logging in Anderson, as its 2010 Logger of the Year.
  • COMMON SIGHT:
'Every street looks like this,' Cottonwood resident Nicklas Rogers said of a photograph he took of the aftermath of an earthquake's wide-spread destruction in Haiti. With cracks in most buildings, people eat, sleep and live out of doors and away from crumbling walls of concrete buildings.

  • BIG BOAT — 
A 45-foot boat built in Red Bluff carried a multitude and only took on about eight inches of water, said Larry Lucas, a Red Bluff man trying to track down the boat his father, Pat Lucas, built in 1949.
