DON JONES MEMORIAL -- Cowboy hats were the predominant headgear for those attending the memorial service Thursday, April 14, 2011, for Don Jones, 51, of Cottonwood. Ranchers and businessmen, women and children found seats at long tables or stood along the walls of Shasta Hall at the Shasta District Fair grounds in Anderson. Pastor Dan Woolery officiated during the memorial service. A barbecue lunch was served immediately following. Jones was the foreman for Holiday Ranch, owned by Rich Morgan of Cottonwood. Jones helped start Four Star Rodeo and was much beloved by ranchers and rodeo participants throughout much of northern California.
