  • back to school — Students get off the buses as another school year begins at Anderson
Middle School.
  • PROUD GRADUATE — Cashmere, 2, is a female Terrier-Pit Bull mix recommended for an active
home that has a family with children age 8 and older. A proper introduction with other dogs in the household is required. Cashmere recently learned some basic obedience commands during Camp Love-A-Pet program and is available for adoption at Haven Humane Society. All feline and canine adoptions at the shelter include spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. To see Cashmere,

  • Scene of the crime — A 31-year-old man was found dead outside this home on Howard Street late Saturday night. It was the first homicide in Anderson in nearly six years and shocked the town.
  • First Day — Parents and students enter the office at Anderson Middle School before the start of class. Many parents were on hand to help their children get settled before heading off to work.
  • PEEK-A-BOO — Tyson Calvin, 4, of Cottonwood checks on his newly adopted kitty at the free cat
adoption day at Haven Humane Society last week. Tyson was with his grandmother, Deborah Patrick,
looking for a kitty.
  • Playing his songs — Mel Clark loves nothing more than sitting behind his keyboard and entertaining
crowds. Clark played recently for a crowd at the Frontier Senior Center.
