Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

Wow, I can’t believe how few signatures are needed to initiate then implement a recall. With so few needed we could probably knock that out in a weekend at WalMart.

The old number one vote getter came in third this last election, and next time she’ll be last which means she won’t get a seat (if she even runs). If she manages to squander all her campaign funds she can’t afford to advertise or buy off people.

34 days that the Chief has been on administrative leave. Can you believe that? I guess it takes that long to make sure the report you bought and paid for is to your liking. Neal probably had to do re-writes a few times. I can just picture Norma reading the report and screeching, we need more bad stuff about Chief, and so she pencils in “steals hubcaps from police cars” in the margin. Not to be outdone Butch mentions he thinks someone told him that the third ex-wife of a second cousin four times removed and best friends of someone he knew in third grade swears they saw him remove a mattress label, then laugh that the cops will never pin it on him. Of course Keith being Mr. Anderson and all, swears the Chief took a short cut once that did not include a trip by the teen center and that’s just plain wrong. Behead the Chief! Maybe a public hanging!

But to be serious, this is all so sad. The Chief is being put through a lot of crap that should not even be happening. All this because he stands up for what is right and this sets off Comnick and her bestest friend Tom Brown to make the Chief sorry. He’s sorry alright, but not for the reasons you think. I’m sure he’s sorry that justice is not being served in this case. That you can buy people and their loyalties and he’s sad that people he thought he could trust he couldn’t.

The Chief is a fighter, never count him down and out. I’m sure he’ll take the reprimands due him and continue on being the best Fire Chief this town has ever had.

Anderson Mom, I swear you need to be voted in office immediately as Mayor. You make frighteningly fabulous sense, your answers are intelligent, thought out and on point. If only the Unholy Trinity could take a cue. But alas, no. Instead we get to continue walking behind them with a super-size-me pooper scooper.

LuvAnderson, I'm more than up to walking tall in army boots, how about cartwheels?! You're right, Anderson voters ARE smart and we know our voices are making a difference.

justchillen, your name should probably be justshillin since I think you're more than likely trying to seek, as in "buy" support since Norma is a pro at that. Just ick.

I have this really spine-tingling feeling that things are rocking and rolling in all the right direction for the Fire Chief. Can't wait until he's back!!!

Did anyone see today's Dilbert cartoon...does it not fit our fire board/council to a tee?!!!

Let's see, what should I talk about this evening...could it be politics? Snooperanderson makes a valid point (or several of them) regarding the legality of the Neal Purcell debacle. As far as how those records from APD could have been magically supplied to him, a vision of Dale Webb comes to mind. Say it ain't so! Bet it is. Somehow, somewhere, someway.

Well, if it can be done for Neal, I have requests of my own which I consider pretty valid, so you think I could just drop those requests by? Maybe we just need a drive through, think how quick and easy it would be to investigate everyone we suspect of something.

AndersonMom, I love your analogy of the situation, insightful as always and your points are on target. It is a shame that the career of Fire Chief Piccinini seems to be hanging in the balance, but I strongly feel the fire board will reinstate him. He’s been a good man, done an excellent job and will continue to do so. If the few firefighters don’t wish to have a Chief of that caliber, then may I suggest they leave. Your story is growing old and boring and the leaks from the volunteers are very telling. Soon you’ll know just what and who I mean.

And to the fire board...please don’t play into the good old boy, dirty politics any longer. The Chief was brought here to change that, or do you forget your own words? To Keith Webster in particular, I think you’re a good man with a good heart, please don’t let the other two pull you down with them.

Karma is an evil mistress. The Rat Within (the firefighter Comnick has brought/bought to the dark side for the promise of a Chief's job) and the Unholy Trinity are finding out. Can they sleep at night? Better yet should they sleep at night...one eye open is their best bet. What they have set in motion will tear them apart. There are monsters under their beds.

Dear truthhurts,

Ahhh, but here's the catch. If he were truly a CEO of a public company there would legally be checks and balances in place. If at any time he had concerns from his upper management, albeit it senior directors or board members, things would be dealt with in a timely manner and professionally. In other words, an investigation would be conducted by a reputable independent investigator. Otherwise, the CEO would just bail with his golden parachute and live happily ever after. You aren't seeing the entire picture. No one has said he is innocent, we are saying there are ways the Chief can be chastized if necessary, but none consist of removing him from his Chief's position.

I'm also hazarding a guess you're a firefighter, paid, volunteer or something in between.

You are a very naive fool if you think just because he's not guilty he won't painted to be anything other than guilty. You do live in Anderson, don't you?

By the way, truth doesn't hurt, ignorance does.

Written on Should the Shasta County Grand Jury be asked to look into the affairs and management practices of the Anderson Fire Protection District including the board of directors and public allegations of their misuse of power?:

BlueSuedeShoes - The Fire Board forgetting to check that ONE little detail? More likely they chose to overlook every little detail so they could creatively manipulate the outcome.

Anyway, anyone see the unholy trinity out and about today or have they checked into a witness protection program? Just saying....

By the way, nice shoes!

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

I have a question. Is Neal Purcell a licensed bonded and insured private investigator in California? Or is he merely taking our money that the unholy trinity is handing over with abandon so they can buy the report they want? What gives his report any teeth, any merit, any real credibility?

My Dear Andersonnative,

Let's talk about Ms. Comnick. Her supposed Kenworth building that the Anderson city budget was increased for based on its expected revenues, became a bust and is the reason why several city employees were laid off last year because the projected income did not materialize. The real Kenworth business elected to move outside the city of Anderson, and Anderson does not receive any tax revenues. Secondly, WalMart was coming to this town regardless of Comnick. More credit for the WalMart coup goes to Dana Shigley and Scott Morgan. Besides WalMart does not pick its towns because of local politicians, it locates in areas that will generate the greatest revenues for WalMart.

And I would venture to guess that with Comnick no longer on the council screwing up local politics, such as what is happening right now, more businesses would be apt to come to the city of Anderson. But if you’re a business and reading about our fair city and see and hear nothing but crooked politicians, why would you want to bring your business here let alone your family?

Another thing, dear Andersonnative, let me quote your post, “Comnick has done wonders for out community.” Out community? My dear, Comnick would have nothing to do with outing anything, she detests gays, haven’t you heard? Why do you think John Sammis got such a good retirement?

Yes, I am from Anderson and I do shop at WalMart, but frequent higher end shops as I'm a professional businesswoman. I do love awesome shoes though!

AndersonMom - You're right about being able to hear all kinds of things from the firefighters when they're at WalMart or their favorite off duty hangout bars. I even heard one of the captain's wives bragging that the Chief was fired when she was getting her hair done. Interesting as always. By the way, didn't some of the firefighters last night look scared to death while they were there "supporting" the fire board? Intimidation comes to mind.

Tonight was chaos. None of the board seemed sure of themselves which is not what you wish to project to your voters. I myself felt like I had been dropped in the middle of a Looney Tunes cartoon, except instead of being funny it was very disturbing.

Did anyone really believe the tripe about the fire board having nothing to do with the anonymous letter? It has to be Comnick's doing, it’s certainly her MO. Perhaps she spoke privately to a willing firefighter and began the ball rolling with certain promises that someday he could become chief. A dangerous game to play is it not?

Also don’t forget that Marsha Kelly is also a “close” friend of Comnick’s. Marsha is trying hard to stay out of the fray at least in public, but with Comnick yanking her chain she will vote the way she’s told.

As “For Anderson” posted elsewhere this evening, I have to agree with you about some of the firefighters being out of shape. Good thing none of them sneezed or a flying button could have killed someone in the audience. The nerve of Chief Piccinini wanting them to be in shape to better their own lives or perform their job better.
