Written on Fire board quiet about Chief Piccinini's future:

Gosh, sounds to me like the hate is coming from HeardEnough and andersonlegend. You can feel it through their angry words. They are angry beyond belief. Must be mothers of 'important' people feeling helpless because they want to defend their babies.
They accuse Chief's supporters of hatred? Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black?

Sounds to me like Chief's supporters upset them by not being at their meeting so they could glare at us more!! Sorry, ladies, you can always take out a $215 ad in the newspaper. Comnick has the campaign cash. Oh, guess you can't since Bellinger accused the paper of being one sided and that would be dirty money. Oops!!!!

HeardEnough-Don't you wish you knew what we were doing tonight and what we are up to next? Hmmmmm. He who laughs last.....................................

As for Comnick, I heard she was serving grape kool-aid and dessert right after the meeting. Bet the firefighters all lined up for that.

Of course you still have so many "typos" your blog is hard to understand (spelling and grammar classes should definitely be in your future-perhaps your son, part of the unholy trinity will pay for them.)

And that adds up to a lot of poop! Those roses are going to be ginormous!!

Written on Anderson Fire board to resume hearing investigation on Thursday:

You are so right, Treachery_Runs_Deep. First of all, your name says it all. This treacherous mess has deep roots in Anderson, but,it will not be allowed to continue. As we have all stated here, there are only about a thousand and one (or more) reasons why this is wrong on so many levels. (See above)Citizens are now actively watching, digging and waiting to see how this mess is handled at tonight's meeting.

If Webster does read the blogs, then he had best know that his only hope to retain a semblance of his self proclaimed "Mr. Anderson" title, lies directly in what he as chairman of this fire board allows to happen tonight.

May I remind him that, he himself, will need support when the state investigation becomes public about him.

The cartoon on the editorial page in the Valley Post shows it all. Citizens are now aware of just how illegal a system has been allowed to flourish in Anderson. Citizens also know who is responsible for all of the above. The unholy trinity is falling apart. Tomatoes not withstanding,(lethal weapons, remember?) Comnick must be having heart palpitations watching her micro-management control system slip through her senile, bribing fingers.

Get smart, fire board, discipline Chief if you feel you must, but for the sake of all Anderson citizens, put him back to work. Remember why you hired him? He is a forward thinking, progressive Chief willing to continue to bring our local fire hall into this century. He did the right thing by NOT bowing to Comnick's personal request that he 'look the other way' and not require sprinklers in her friend's (and I use the term loosely) building. You have given him great reviews until suddenly you place him on administrative leave? There is something smelly and wrong with that whole scenario.

Yes, the stuff is about to hit the fan and it will be messy at best. Anderson Citizens have their rain gear and boots on and we are prepared!! Is the unholy trinity prepared? (Don't think so.) If they cannot stand thrown tomatoes, how will they withstand what else is coming down the pike towards them. They WILL answer for their illegal activities in our community. Recall is evident.

Written on Anderson Fire board to resume hearing investigation on Thursday:

Here we go again!! OK, so let me get this straight. No one knows what the costs might be for this whole investigation to date. No one has any idea what is going on, where the money is coming from, what Mr. Purcell did while he was here, how much he is charging, how many hours he racked up, how many meals he ate, how much his airfare cost, etc. etc. etc. No one has seen any certficate that enables him to investigate anyone or anything in California. (Mainly because there is none & besides why should they think to ask. They have done their own thing for so long that legalities never even entered into the equation.) Sounds like good management to me! What a crock! Perhaps Comnick is financing this out of her 'leftover campaign money?" People, get real!!

So is the Fire District so rich that the board can afford "whatever the total happens to be?" Most of us live within a budget. We know exactly what we can afford to spend on each line item. This fire board just decided to randomly bring in Mr. Purcell and pay whatever he felt was fair? Mismanagement, big time!! Anything for Comnick!! Anything to keep her happy!!

My gosh, let's just go out and do this investigation without any forethought. Let's just obey Comnick and "get the Chief." No wonder Anderson Voters voted overwhelmingly to have an elected Fire Board. This illegal activity has gone on far too long. Comnick thinks it up and Schaeffer and Webster just 'yes ma'am' her the whole time. Unholy trinity is too nice a name for these three.

Did anyone see the cartoon on the editorial page of the Valley Post today? That says it all. Cute likeness of the unholy trinity, wouldn't you say?

It is a good thing this power trip is coming to a fast close. These people have had their illegal way in our community for too many years. I, for one, cannot wait to see this recall and Grand Jury Investigatio happen. Getting rid of this mess will bring a breath of fresh air to Anderson and its' citizens. We might actually see honest government in our town. Thankfully we have two untainted city council persons. We just need three more honest people who want to see Anderson flourish as it should.

Written on Anderson Fire board to resume hearing investigation on Thursday:

Well, I see there is a large fire burning in Siskiyou County. I can only reiterate to the Fire Board-please put our Chief back to work. Fire season is here and we need him at the helm of the fire district.

I think there is also a lot of heat under the Fire Board as evidenced by their decision to 'invite' the Grand Jury into this investigation.

Could that be because Concerned Citizens have already requested such an investigation? Hmmm. Is part of the unholy trinity listening at last? Bet Comnick is not happy about that.

Knowing for certain that Purcell was not licensed to 'investigate' in California, perhaps they have finally started back pedaling a bit. How can the 'report' be used when it was illegally obtained?

Now about this 'open session' on Thursday. I thought such meetings had to be announced 72 hours ahead of time to give time for citizens of this community to hear about it and attend. Look at the time it was posted on this website. Interesting!! It should have been printed in tomorrow's valley post to be a legal announcement, shouldn't it?.

The "closed session" was announced at the last fire board meeting, but only as a closed session. There was no mention of an open meeting for the 25th at all. Are they hoping citizens will not attend? Interesting thought!

One more thing-"cowards with a computer"--does that include you, HeardEnough?

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

Having no problem with any of the three people you mention above, I can only say you are way off base. Keep trying to turn the spotlight off of the real issue which is the illegal investigation conducted by the Fire Board through Purcell. It will not work.

Sorry if I offended you by mentioning your spelling skills. Glad you want to improve yourself.

Classless is the pursuit of the fire board at Comnick's behest to find a way to fire the Chief. Classless is the way Comnick has pushed her own personal agendas in this community for far too many years. Classless is Schaeffer and Webster afraid to cross her for fear she will turn on them. Classless is the way Val asked the firefighters if they had anything negative to say to Purcell about the Chief. Need I say more?

Again the main issue here is the legality of this whole investigation. Fire season is here. I say put the Chief back to work so he can continue to plan the strategies needed in case of fire emergencies here. If discipline is needed, so be it, but get it over with and for heaven's sake, let's move on.

Hate does not enter into this equation. What ever happened to freedom of speech? The last I knew, we could still state our thoughts, ideas and feelings without fear of reprisal. Oh,I forgot, that would only happen in Anderson if the unholy trinity was recalled.

Ask Hopkins about that tantrum thrown by Schaeffer at the last fire board meeting. Red-faced, spitting and yelling right in her face? Something about Handi-Spot Market? Is this man prejudiced? Does Handi-Spot not pay taxes into the city coffers? I guess hatred might be in some people after all.

Hatred is not part of who I am. Perhaps it is part of you, I don't know. I do know that this time a grave injustice and error in making this investigative decision was made. It is time for this fire board to back away from their many mistakes and allow this community to move on with Chief P. back in his job.

PS Campaign might rhyme with champagne but they are spelled differently, HeardEnough.

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

Absolutely what we should all want as Anderson citizens is fair and just policies for all of those entrusted with governing our city and fire district. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, and it is about time every employee and elected official be held to the same standards....not just 'off with your head' for those who manage to tick off Comnick by obeying the law.

I realize that she has her own version of the law around here, but that has got to be stopped. Concerned Citizens are doing just that. We want fair and honest practices in place for everyone who is in the public eye, working (supposedly) for the betterment of Anderson.

I read somethng on a sign in town today. It went something like this-"Advice is free, but only the wise will listen to it." Listen up, Fire Board!!

I can only pray that 4 of our current fire board members will refuse to continue playing Comnick's game. Discipline the Chief, if it is warranted. Put him back to work so he can continue to make plans for the fire safety in our area. Folks, fire season is here! We need an educated man who has already started making plans to better protect us all. There is not one person in that fire hall with the skills to do such planning.

We need more than a man with a truck and water playing fireman. We need someone to finish making safety plans, train his crew and implement those plans ASAP.

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

outsiderlookingin-by george, I think you've got it!!
Your points are right on. The only thing I would add is the need to talk to the firefighters who do NOT oppose Chief. As I recall, the only question asked them by Val was,"Do you have anything NEGATIVE to say about Chief?" Was there any time in this investigation where Purcell pursued those standing in support of the Chief? I don't think so. He (and Comnick) were too afraid of what they might find that would dislodge her whole campaign against Chief Piccinini.

Veryangrymom might want to do a little sleuthing at this point and find out just who they are since obviously Fincher has been working on keeping their mouths shut for fear of their jobs. Maybe she should take dessert to the fire hall-just joking!! But, evidently Comnick thought the way to these men was through their stomachs!! I hope you guys (firefighters) get it by now that she is using you for her own ends.

What a set-up! I keep forgetting that Val was part of this whole mess from the beginning,(Comnick's paid anonymous letter writer) so perhaps we should rename them the unholy trinity plus one.

The unholy trinity plus one should remember that for each of us both inside and outside the fire hall who stand up, there are many others alongside of us who also stand with us. That, my friends, adds up to be a lot of votes and voters.

One can only hope that Schaeffer and Webster have sifted through the reports wisely by now and have decided to no longer be governed by Comnick's personal wishes and desires. Stand up to her, fellas, you CAN do it. Retain your ego and no longer be her little minions who do as she says. I am telling you, your careers in Anderson hinge on this. You would do well to take your heads out of the sand and listen to the voters.

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

To VeryAngryMom
Fincher's supervisors/bosses would be the Fire District Board,I believe. So, he will not be reprimanded for trying to influence impressionable young people, since this whole mess was started by Board Member Comnick (who is now allegedly caught in the act of trying to bribe those firefighters with dessert and $215-to add to her other illegal activities) and the rest of the board is fully backing everything she and Fincher do. Acting Fire Chief Nichols is right in there with them. These two men want Chief's job so badly they will do anything, I repeat anything, to try to get that job. Think about how safe your young firefighter will be in a fire with them!!!!!!! There is no 'brotherhood" with these two.

What a sad state of affairs for Anderson. We must RECALL Comnick, Schaeffer and Webster in order to stop this whole gestapo like regime's agenda. It has gone on for far too long. The only way, at this point, that Schaeffer and Webster can save themselves is to either withdraw their support of this whole thing and vote to leave it for an impartial, elected board to handle, or discipline the Chief if they feel they must and then put him back to work. Fire season is here. We need this educated, gifted man protecting us during this season of the year.

With Purcell possibly facing allegations that his investigation has been illegal from the beginning (see earlier blogs), there is no fair way the fire board can now even make a decision. When the cost of this whole mess is revealed, the whole community will be up in arms at the unholy trinity's misuse of critical funds in the Fire District(I assume they will also pay the city for the multitude of things Morgan OK'd such as a car, secretaries, city office, etc.)

Might I add, that I never saw this on a city council agenda for the council to approve such unusual and unwise expenditures.

Spread the work, AngryMom. This travesty of justice must be paid for by the people instigating and condoning it. They should be recalled so Anderson can have a fair and honest government.

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

You know, justchillin, you are missing the whole point here. The investigation is illegal, and has been from the very minute Comnick instigated it.
It began with an anonymous letter, which should have had no credibility. All Comnick had to do was whisper to Val Corbell what she wanted and out goes the letter.
Whisper to Nichols and Fincher that she would place them in Chief's position, and that glues them to her side. They want the prestige big time, even though neither is educated enough or trained enough to handle it. That would be why they are running scared and trying to force the volunteers to be on their side. They cannot afford to "allow" the personnel to read any blogs. It might make them stop and think.

Then she tells the Fire Board, who does her bidding unilaterally, to bring in her old friend, Purcell, who, by the way, has no legal credentials in California. Oops, she did not think of that. Now he could be charged with a misdemeanor according to California laws. They may be seeing each other through bars soon.

Next she tries to bribe the fire personnel with dessert and $215.00! Boy, this woman is just plain dumb or senile.

Need I say more? At this point, it really does not matter what the charges may be. The whole thing was not done according to the law. Anyone read the Brown Act or California Business Law lately?

This time Comnick did not dot all her i's and cross all her t's. She is so stuck on herself, that she thinks she is above the law. Well, the good news is she is not. Likely she, also, will be facing charges. Gee, isn't she rather old to be cuffed and taken to jail? She is in deep water and from what I hear, barely staying afloat. When Webster and Schaeffer wake up and cut the apron strings, she surely will sink. Surely they are smart enough to see where this is going. If they listen to us, the voters, they will back off from this unholy mess.

That will bring the Anderson political arena to a whole new level of accountability and that is a GOOD thing.

Written on Letter alleges foul play by Anderson fire board:

Schaeffer and Webster had better beware. Unless they change their tunes, they are going down in Comnick's sinking ship. I only hope they can swim. These men used to be good for Anderson-that is until they boarded Comnick's boat of no return.

Do votes matter to you two? If so, you would be advised to carefully consider any action you plan to take on this matter. Voters are watching, waiting and hoping that you will do the fair, just and honorable thing by disciplining our Chief if you must, but get him back to work before the intense fire season begins.

Purcell would do well to withdraw his investigative report and hightail it back to Montana--far, far away from Comnick and this whole mess she has created. What she thought would be yet one more victim in her long list may in fact be the very thing she created to end her political career big time.

Dessert AND $215.00, now how could any responsible person in our fire hall refuse that?

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

So, HeardEnough, will you be wearing your pith helmet because you are pithed off?

On a more serious note, I also watched the city council meeting tonight. I was proud of the two citizens who stood up for our Chief. They were well versed in their comments, not accusatory, just stating their opinions. It took a lot to stand up in front of the council/fire board members and ask them to rethink this whole situation.

Hiring Purcell is just wrong, however you slice it. An independent investigator with no ties to Anderson would have been a smarter choice for many reasons-conflict of interest, COST,preconceived ideas of guilt before investigating, hearing opinions of fire board members before & during the investigation, to name a few.(See Concerned Citizen's Letter above)

Webster and Schaeffer, this is your time to prove you are real men, not puppies guided by Comnick's opinion. Look at this whole mess and make the decision to put Chief back to work, discipline him if you feel you must, but please do not throw the baby out with the bath water. This controversy is tearing our town apart. The wisest thing for you to do is take the high road and put Chief back to work. Besides, isn't the view better from the high road, than from Comnick's low, muddy road?

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

Hmmm-Jim Jones, brainwashing, cult comes to mind with the Kool-Aid. Amazing what we choose to drink. Glad you are in your shelter, when the ___ hits the fan, hopefully you will not get any on you.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

Trying to get the spotlight off of the unholy trinity will not work this time, HeardEnough. Anderson citizens are sick and tired of their unfair practices/antics. Voters are upset, and these people would do well to take note of that. Should they be recalled from the council for conflict of interest with their position on the fire board? Positively, yes!

Hiring Purcell has been only one of their mistakes. See the list of questions above. For far too long, we as Anderson residents have stood by, shaking our heads as we see the things Comnick and her minions have pulled. This time she has gone too far. The stuff is up to her neck and getting deeper all the time. Soon it will smother her.

Red Stilettos mentions Webster above. I agree he loves Anderson and seems to have a heart for wanting what is best. If that is the case, this is his time to stand against the other two, take a step back, admit they have made the wrong decision, and put our Chief back to work in his rightful position.

Setting up an exercise facility in the fire hall and asking the men to use it regularly during their shifts is a good thing. Instituting quicker emergency response is a good thing-not waiting for Matheson to come and drive "his baby" the water tender is a good thing. Minutes count when fire is running rampant. Automatic aid agreements with CalFire and Cottonwood Fire are good things. Instituting plans for wild fire suppression is a good thing. Bringing our fire district into the 21st century is a good thing.

Unholy trinity-swallow your pride, admit you were wrong, discipline this man who admits he is human if you must, but get him back to work. The fire season is here and we want the best running our district. If my home catches on fire tonight, who do I want running the show? Chief P because he has the skills and knowledge to lead the firefighters.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

People are tired of politicians who misuse their position to vent their own irrational hostility for whatever reason on working people who simply work hard, care about others and their community and want the best for those around them. Unfortunately sometimes one bad apple does begin to spoil the barrel. That is why at some point we must stand against the unfair politicians.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

Exactly!!! That is why he(wannabe chief) and Comnick are working so well together. Neither has a heart for the community and its' people. Their love of greed and power is exemplified in what they are consorting to accomplish. It will blow up in their faces. It is only a matter of time.

Chief Piccinini has compassion for both our community and its' citizens. It was interesting to hear Debbie from Blue Oaks Apts. talk about how he ministered to her with concern and compassion when her husband had a heart attack.

When Chief returns to his rightful place on duty, he will know who to watch and who he can depend on.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

I agree with you, Treachery_Runs_Deep. The fire board should reinstate our Chief. He is but a pawn in Comnick's latest "chess" game simply because he refused to bow to her illegal wishes. She thinks she has the power to manipulate and move people to her advantage.

I would love to see the rest of the firefighters stand up as a body, refuse to meet her demands and bring an end to this whole charade. That is all it would take. If they stood enmass, she would no longer have the power she currently thinks she wields. I say,"Stand up for the truth, firefighters!" Put an end to this woman's reign of terror over this whole community. That would be REAL job security for all of you. Can you not see what she and a wannabe fire chief are doing to you? Who will she start on next? Who among you will be at the top of her next list? I would hate to work under a man who knifed his superior in the back for fear he would turn that knife on me at some point.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

This community really is tired of it all. The "unholy trinity" should resign/step down NOW. They no longer have any credibility in this area. There is nothing fair and impartial about them or their investigator.

Written on Watchdog group forming:

It will be interesting to watch the "unholy trinity" at work during the council meeting Tuesday night. Now that they know we are on to them, they may be absent or unable to do their jobs, especially the mayor. I would hope he would be ashamed to show his face at the meeting, much less on TV. Then again, perhaps we will hear a public apology for his treatment of a concerned citizen at the Fire Board Meeting on Thursday. Perhaps he will have his Mommy there to hold his hand through it all.

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

Comments were limited to two minutes? The norm for public speaking at almost any venue is five minutes. During City Council meetings, public speaking time is five minutes and if I am not mistaken the Fire Board normally also allows five minutes. Why was this meeting taken down to two minutes? Were they afraid to give the public too much time to have an opinion? This just proves that in their own minds, what the public says does not matter. Their minds are already made up. How stupid do they think Anderson citizens are? We may have stood by in the past (unfortunately) and allowed them to have their way, but their field day is over. I agree with Blue Suede Shoes that this "board" should opt out of a final decision on this matter. If they ever expect to achieve any kind of "good" recognition in this community again, they had best leave the decision to the elected fire board. As city council people, those three cannot run, right?

Written on Should the Shasta County Grand Jury be asked to look into the affairs and management practices of the Anderson Fire Protection District including the board of directors and public allegations of their misuse of power?:

As I remember, the interim chief (before Piccinini) was also ousted because of the unhappiness of the fire personnel. Didn't he also try to bring some sense of professionalism to their department? The nerve of him or our current chief making them stay fit and be more professional......go figure. As stated above....Hillbillies don't want change...they like the good ol' boy system headed by Mama C. that they have always had. With so many people out of work, they had better consider their jobs and the fact that they work for the community, not just for a biased board. They, too, can be replaced.

Written on Watchdog group forming:

Ding, dong, the witch is dead....at least her shenanigans are soon to be dead. She has controlled this town and some of the people in it for far too long. I did, at one time, think that the other two council persons who also serve on the fire board were smarter than this....nothing worse than men who are dancing puppets for the lady puppet master. All three of them had better take notice of the unrest in this city. Voters are tired of all this...we want a change and soon!!
They should all resign while they can before they are forced out by the Grand Jury Investigation. One of them may be forced out by the state because of his "forgotten" financial report...yeah right!! The real "Mr. Anderson" would roll over in his grave if he saw what was happening here.

Written on Watchdog group forming:

Such short notice had to be intentional. It appears to me that the "unholy trinity" already have their minds made up anyway. If the heartless one wants our Chief out, she will get him out come hell or high water. She has a record of getting what she wants. But that is about to end. Concerned Citizens rise up and end this nonsense.
