Written on Anderson's 'Marauder Man' Ken Bell dead at 87:

Ken was such a wonderful man and patriot, he'll be missed.

Written on Anderson's City Manager accepts similar post in Florida:

Good luck Scott and family! I knew Anderson couldn't hold on to you for long. You're a great administrator as well as a conscientious person that can see the long-range picture. Give me a wave as you pass through Wichita!

Written on Cottonwood cowboy joins heavenly rodeo:

Very nice article Tracye. I was saddened to hear of Donny's death. He was a true rodeo hero helping all of those that happened in the way of a wild bull and also helping those who wanted to learn of the rodeo way of life.

Written on New sports editor joins Valley Post:

Welcome and good luck! You'll find Anderson to be a great community with people who really care about each other!

Written on Perspective: Trading notes:

This makes you realize what America really has... the freedom to not only choose what we listen to, or read, or believe, but the choice of religion as well. Such fundamental concepts. Many times we forget the gifts and privileges we really enjoy compared to others.

Written on Bussell joins Valley Post ad team:

Heather, you should really enjoy your new assignment. I know you will be a great addition to the Valley Post.
The South County will also be a winner since you know the people and businesses already. You will really know what their needs should be!

Written on Building a dream:

The addition of the coffee shop has dressed up that one corner of the old downtown. Thank you for changing the color!
Now... what about the old 49er Club? Will that be opening soon?

Written on Valley Post, Wal-Mart team up to promote classroom literacy:

Thanks WalMart! The inclusion of the Valley Post in a classroom learning situation will further help our future citizens learn about community and how important each of them are for the development of our community.
I would also hope that teachers would encourage student commentary regarding local stories in the Valley Post. Comments could be posted either online or as a letter to the editor. Younger opinions are important, too!

Written on To keep and bear arms:

Right on, Winnie! Keep reminding us of our roots!

Written on Keeping up with Mike:

Brave soul you are Mike! Hope it filled your excitement quota for a while.
Good article Paul, it looks like Shasta Raceway will come to life this year!

Written on Subdivision financing slows down; property owner sues the developer :

Good reporting. It was about time the public heard of the events regarding the Vineyards. There were/are such great plans.
What tangled webs can be woven in the multi-faceted real estate market.

Written on River crossings have long history in Anderson area:

With the new bridge construction now starting, let's work on keeping this bit of Anderson history alive as a walking and biking bridge. Grants are out there for this type of thing and it would add to the unique values that Anderson has been working hard to cultivate.

Written on Perspective: Infectious:

George, you are already seeing the huge advantage of being a part of the South County. The people are great, the towns will take you into their hearts and the area is growing in the right direction with a lot of local input, a very refreshing perspective!
Best to you in your endeavor as editor!

Written on New fire chief chosen for Anderson:

Wonderful! There is a new fire chief in town. Now we can move forward and start working on how the protection district should really work! Work on the district and where and how the funds should come form. Maybe joining forces with the city would be the best for everyone.

Written on Photo gallery: West Valley Homecoming Event:

Great shots! Thanks for the up-to-date photos. Everyone in Cottonwood should be thrilled!

Go Eagles!

Written on Photo Gallery: Anderson Homecoming brings it home:

Great pictures... thanks for paying attention to Anderson.

Go cubs!!

Written on Perspective: Hats and consequences:

It was my understanding that men (and boys) should always remove their hats upon entering a building or greeting a woman.
Or, are those manners no longer in vogue? Too bad, then there wouldn't have been any argument over the above!

Written on Big Blue alumni dinner draws crowd:

In the final count, the fundraiser actually brought in a little over $29,000! What a great community! I hope that some of the money finds it's way to other athletic programs at AUHS and not just football.
