Written on Nichols promoted to fire chief:

Who else wants to see an obviously non-fatty-at-all picture of HardEnough?

Written on Board hears investigation of Anderson fire chief, delays ruling:

If the Chief was a CEO of a public company, would your reactions be the same?

Humor me and try to follow along: think of a CEO of a company that serves public. Imagine that same person being a fantastic neighbor, involved in the community, always a smiley face and a polite professional gentleman. But at work, he isn't all that self-confident all the time. It's lonely to be on top and of course there are people who won't like the decisions and rules he makes. A good CEO would deal with that in a professional manner, right? And if someone was to say he is doing something unprofessional or even illegal, if someone occused him of doing something he absolutely wasn't guilty of - you bet that very CEO would make all the results of investigation public?

Let's see if Chief does the same. Actions speak louder than words!

If he truly isn't guilty, no investigation could make him be. Facts are what the are and he will be back to work soon without any hard feelings, if he truly is the professional he talks to be.

And if he is guilty of what he is accused of - well, it'll likely make some of his supporters feel really gullible for supporting someone without knowing the facts. At that point, the concern isn't the Chief - it's the people he tricked...
